| June 8th, 2021 – Today, psych-pop rockers Spaceface have returned with their new single “Happens All The Time”, out now via Mothland. “Happens All The Time” is as funky and dreamy as pop curveballs can get, from its infectious introductory guitar riff to its dazed-out vocals, this psychedelic slice of pop-rock is just plain fun. The accompanying music video is as fun and colorful as the track itself, mimicking a 1970’s style performance. Directed by Emmy award-winning puppeteer Dave Bizzaro, the band is brought to life as puppets made out of toilet paper rolls, complete with miniature instruments. Spaceface is a band that is out to create a good time and that’s plenty apparent on their latest offering. On the story behind the song, vocalist and guitarist Jake Ingalls (they/them) commented: “The track is about that dreaded feeling of knowing you’ve seen or met someone before and not quite remembering their name but knowing it’s gonna come up and you just gotta deal with it because at the end of the day, it really does happen all the time. And it’s no biggie.” On creating the video, director Dave Bizzaro stated: “When Jake came to me about creating a music video it was three months after the pandemic hit NYC. All TV and film productions had halted and I was held up in my apartment making puppets out of leftover toilet paper rolls like a mad man. Jake called me up one day and asked if I could create a puppet-driven music video with sock puppets for his new album. I said, “ Of course, but what if the puppets were all elevated toilet paper roll puppets with rad robes and miniature instruments made of cardboard?” He loved the idea and we began to collaborate on the look, tone, and style of the video.” |
