AUDIO PREMIERE: Vissia presents the blissful and melancholic ‘About Moving On’

Blissful in melody and instrumentation, melancholic and vulnerable in lyricism, VISSIA’s latest release ‘About Moving On’ is an exquisite blending of soundscape and observation, which puts her skills as a lyricist and storyteller at the forefront.

The observations of the mundanities of everyday life in ‘About Moving On’ is a gorgeous technique reminiscent of another blonde bombshell – Robyn, and her 2005 hit ‘Be Mine!’. The inescapable simplicity of grief and emotion is matched here with deep yet minimal synth lines, reflecting the absolutely penetrative and nature of heartbreak.

“I don’t care if I see you anymore/Is what I tell myself/ You are walking through the door/ And I spill my drink” is the first breathtaking verse, in which Vissia bares all in a move of vulnerability and honesty.

The profound simplicity of heartbreak is made so apparent here that I defy you not to be transported to the party, watching your ex lover walk in and feeling broken right alongside her. ‘About Moving On’ creates an atmosphere and tells a story in a few words better than most artists could do in a whole album.

‘About Moving On’ is a heartbreakingly intimate song and, coming hot on the heels of previous track ‘Walk Me Home’, continues to expand and prove VISSIA as excelling time and again with translating the difficulties of the human experience into words and music.
