All money raised on the day will be going directly to Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity which is close to OriginalRock.net’s hearts. OriginalRock.net writer Zoe Marchment recently has been told that she has now got type 4 pancreatic cancer and has been given 6 months – 1 year to live. The charity event was originally going to take place next year to celebrate Zoe being 2 years cancer free but unfortunately the cancer has spread.
So far four acts have been announced for the event with more set to be announced next week.
Star of E4’s Dead Pixels, Noush Skaugen, will be performing a special set for charity with her raw and powerful new album ‘Hey Sicko’, coming out just five days later on 20th November through Wildcard Records. Facilitated by Grammy nominated producer Michael Beinhorn, the album has the essence of an old school record but with a modern twist. Recorded in Los Angeles with Nashville musicians Stanton Edward (guitar and bass) and Jon Radford (drums), the album finds Noush at her full creative tilt delivering retooled Rock.
Season Of Ghosts, is an electronic metal band formed in Tokyo in 2013 by Sophia Aslanides, the former vocalist for Japanese heavy metal band Blood Stain Child, and Zombie Sam. Recently Season Of Ghosts’ vocalist Sophia and Fatal Fe re-released single ‘Surreal’ and back in September released new single ‘What a time to be alive’ in the form of an inspirational fan project that took place during worldwide lockdowns and global unrest caused by the effects of COVID-19.
The Neverlutionaries, brainchild of Christopher Harold Wells, recently released their new single ‘Ariana’. Christopher will be set to perform a special acoustic show in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK. ‘Ariana’ is the debut single released last month off of The Neverlutionaries upcoming self-titled LP that will be released January 2021.
Electronic artist Patrick Cortes from Animalweapon will also be performing on the night. His recent release, ‘Summer’s Over’ is partly based on a friend diagnosed with breast cancer. Animalweapon has been performing in Raleigh, NC, since 2011, including parties for the city’s premiere Hopscotch Music Festival. He won a 2017 Webby Award for Best Sound Design/Original Music Score for his work on the hit podcast Undisclosed, which was the follow-up to the #1 iTunes media phenomenon ‘Serial’.
Pancreatic Cancer UK isn’t just made up of the people that work for the charity, but the boards that govern, guide and support the work and the community of incredible supporters and volunteers. The charity wants to transform the future for everyone with pancreatic cancer. The current five-year strategy sets out how they will lead the way to that transformation.
