The Waterboys reveal video for ‘Why Should I Love You’

The Waterboys have released the video for ‘Why Should I Love You’ from the critically acclaimed new album Good Luck, Seeker out now via Cooking Vinyl.

‘Why Should I Love You’ is a fantastic cover of a lesser-known Kate Bush song, rearranged and rocked-up in Waterboys style, and illuminated by a romantic video.

Mike Scott explains, “The video was produced by Dutch film-maker Robert Jan Westdijk from photos I took of my wife Megumi Igarashi during our courtship in Japan.  Through the lockdown Megumi has been in Tokyo and we’re having a very socially-distanced relationship right now. We’re OK but of course we miss each other.  Knowing we were apart, Robert made the video as a gift for us.”

Good Luck, Seeker was released to rave reviews around the world. It has been hailed as a truly classic work from one of the most prolifically brilliant bands of our times and demonstrates Mike Scott’s unstoppable creative energy, which has also seen he and the band produce a string of striking videos to accompany the album including ‘Freak Street’‘The Golden Work’‘Dennis Hopper’, ‘The Soul Singer’, ‘Low Down In The Broom’, ‘Postcard From The Celtic Dreamtime’ and ‘(You’ve Got To) Kiss A Frog Or Two’
