Album Review: Ist Ist – Architecture

Ist Ist,”Architecture” (Kind Violence)-Majestic Mancunian post-punk combo Ist Ist certainly couldn’t be accused of undue haste in making their debut album available to an unsuspecting world, as “Architecture” has apparently been six  years in the making. The finished product is certainly well worth the wait however, exploring the disquieting themes of anxiety and emotional turmoil over  some of the most sublimely atmospheric and darkly memorable musical backdrops that you could ever wish to hear. Echoes of Joy Division, Interpol and Nick Cave surface throughout  a remarkable package which peaks with the starkly compelling  “Discipline,”  “You’re Mine” and “Slowly We Escape.”
