Interview: Tradmrkd

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

We haven’t released an EP yet, but we plan on having one released by the end of the year. We hope that the fans do take to it. This has been planned for a while now we just do not have the good quality production the EP deserves.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

We are planning on calling it Eejit or 98. I think we are edging more towards 98 and having our first album be called Eejit. This is top secret stuff I am telling you here. An Eejit, to our non-scots, is a slang term for an idiot.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

I would love to be able to do a song with Green Day. Maybe in the distant future. As right now we want to focus on our sound being ours.

How has your latest release been received?

Our latest release was called Pendulum. It was received well during our live shows and has become a favourite for us to play. We wanted to get it out for more people to hear.

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

So, Pendulum is about being clumsy in your day to day life no matter what you do, whether it had good intentions. I am that clumsy person from time to time and when I try to do good things, they seem to make everything worse. It feels more like a curse than ever. The reason why it was called pendulum is because, life seems to be swinging side to side but going nowhere.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus we have not got a tour lined up. There were some projects in the pipeline being sorted for summer. Hopefully within the year we will have these plans set up in a position to which we can deliver them. We had very exciting things lined up we would love to share.

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

Tunnels in Aberdeen. The reason why is because, it is the biggest local venue we have and playing there would feel like we have finally made it within the Aberdeen music scene. That is our goal for right now. Of course, we would love to play venues in like St Lukes in Glasgow or even bigger like Glastonbury. For right now Tunnels is the gola.

What else can we expect from in 2020?

2020 for all terrible things happening right now, we plan on still making it our year. This pandemic has only fuelled our passion even more and we want to get out there as quick as we can. If we can, we want to play as many shows as possible. We want to release as many songs as possible. We just want to get our music out there to be heard.
