Interview: Stone Sea

So how has your latest EP “Mankind Maze” gone so far with fans then?

The response was great, people really liked the songs, the artwork and all the release gigs. We got a nice feedback at our gigs with people coming to us asking about the lyrics, the concept of the album and some musical specs. If we dragged people attention up to that point I think is something really
positive.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

There’s an alternative version of one of these tracks waiting to be featured in a new music video…

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

It would be great to work on a new track with Pavarotti, if he was still alive. Experimentations could be a disaster but if they’re well worked they can bring a whole new universe of possibilities.

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

Mankind Maze is the human life represented in 5 symbols, 5 facets of life. Is about the behaviours we repeat generation to generation due to the unmutable (or slowly mutable) society we live in. The values that are automatically injected when we were born in a society. The Mankind Maze. But in a nutshell, song by song ‘Mistify’ is about triumph, ‘Flow Upstream’ is about self/social acceptance, ‘Prelude’ is about feeling free with a fresh view about the future, ‘Seeing Red’ is about being blind of hate and ‘Dream Song’… well, I think you can guess.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

We have been planning a tour for this September 2020 in UK. There will be 11 gigs in two weeks in cities like Bristol, Birmingham, London, Liverpool and many more. We are aware that due to the corona virus situation this tour might be postphoned so keep and eye in our social media for updates!

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

A great venue here in Ireland that would be great to play is the Sugar Club. Is like a cinema hall with seats and all but they host great gigs there; the sound is amazing. Would be great to do something more experimental there with dreamy/lysergic songs and a good projector with trippy images.

What else can we expect from in 2020?

New tunes! We’ll be happy to share one or maybe two music videos and some new songs before we go on tour.
