Marquis Drive release video for single ‘Proud’

Hailing from the deepest, darkest parts of the west midlands, Marquis Drive’s sound is one of frustration, dreams and hard work. Signed to Alan McGee’s Creation23 label, the debut single ‘Proud’ is released on 28th February (and vinyl pre-sales have nearly sold out).

Formed under a wandering star somewhere next to a Weatherspoons the 7-piece band boast a truly epic sound with big guitars, big vocals and big percussion. Born of, “a mutual love of football, clobber, and of course great music,” the band say ‘Proud’ is, a thumping tune, straight from the heart and soul, wrapped around a tale of overcoming modern day worries.” It has been receiving radio play from Chris Hawkins at 6Music and John Kennedy at Radio X.

Marquis Drive write powerhouse indie anthems to help you escape the 9-5 and remind you that there is a Friday just around the corner. Upbeat to the point of euphoria, they write anthemic choruses set amongst verses of everyday life.

Their energetic and enigmatic live shows have earned them fans up and down the country. They’ve headlined MOSFEST in Sheffield, performed on the main stage at the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally and they’ve been taken on tour with Shed Seven, The Farm, Reverend and The Makers and The Wonder Stuff. They will open for Shaun Ryder on his forthcoming Q&A tour. This is a band that has been firmly taken under the wing of indie rock royalty, and now it’s their turn to shine.

Marquis Drive are Mark Hillier (Vocals, Guitar), Eddie Thomas (Vocals, Guitar), Chris Eardley (Lead Guitar, backing vocals), Matty Drury (Keyboards), Conal Saha Drive (Drums), Leon Harrison (Percussion) and Mal Flynn (Bass).
