Catherine MacLellan,”Coyote”(Self-Released)- This is the sixth album release from Juno award winning Canadian singer-songwriter Catherine MacLellan,whose late father Gene was responsible for penning memorable seventies hits such as Anne Murray’s “Snowbird” and Ocean’s gospelly “Put Your Hand in the Hand.” Catherine’s own approach to music-making is a little more subtle and introspective, and once you’ve lent an ear to the reflective delights of “Coyote” it’s easy to understand why her previous offerings have prompted favourable comparisons with such illustrious figures as Gillian Welch and Joni Mitchell.
