The Hit Parade announce new album ‘The Golden Age Of Pop’

THE HIT PARADE is set to release its seventh LP on JSH RECORDS on Friday October 25 2019 on vinyl and CD, distributed globally by Shellshock Distribution.

THE GOLDEN AGE OF POP’ contains 12 bright new pop songs including the recent 45rpm single releases “Joey’s Girl” and “Happy World”. The vinyl pressing comes with a limited edition free comic “Tales From Planet Pop”, the true story of a pop group doomed to a life of obscurity drawn by illustrator Paul McCaffrey.

‘THE GOLDEN AGE OF POP’ was written and recorded by the original band members over the last three years including Raymond Watts, producer of the band’s 1986 indie classic “With Love From The Hit Parade”.

The Hit Parade was formed by three school friends in 1984 and has built a small but determined following amongst pop fans in London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, New York, Stockholm and Penzance. After touring Japan in the 1990s (with Thee Milkshakes and Edwyn Collins), the Hit Parade went into hibernation until their 2013 single “I Like Bubblegum” was heralded one of the best singles of the year by Drowned In Sound.

Over the last twenty years The Hit Parade’s catalogue of songs have been heralded as “perfect pop” (NME) “indie icons” (Word) “casually sophisticated” (Observer) “rare talent” (Q Mag) “bona fide pop smash” (Drowned In Sound) and “the very definition of twee Eighties style indie” (Arts Desk). The Hit Parade has its own latin motto Semper Eadem (Always The Same).
