Wild Cat Strike Announce The Blood Orange Sessions EP

Brighton four-piece Wild Cat Strike are pleased to announce a brand new EPtitled The Blood Orange Sessions, set for release on 23rd August 2019 via Small Pond Recordings and available to preorder now.

The quartet also recently revealed an appearance at ArcTanGent Festivalalongside a short run of UK headline shows with support from label mate Natalie Evans, including a London show on 1st September at The Old Blue Last. To celebrate the announcement, the band are streaming a sombre, stripped back version of lead single ‘Satellite Towns’ in full today that showcases their songwriting talents in stark light.

Featuring exclusive live sessions, reimaginings, and alternate versions of tracks from their full-length debut Rhubarb Nostalgia (out now), the EP is a beautifully packaged treat for fans both old and new that shows a softer and more introspective side to their diverse, chameleonic indie pop.

External influences on the record range from the atmospheric mastery of Godspeed You! Black Emperor to Modest Mouse’s vocal treatments, to the eclectic indie outsider flavours of Conor Oberst, Dan Deacon, Pavement, mewithoutYou and Anathallo.

Wild Cat Strike gained high profile early support late last year from the BBC Radio 1 Rock ShowRadcliffe & Maconie (BBC 6Music)CLASH and DORK. Channelling their gleeful sense of cacophony and flair for sonic abrasion into an engrossing record of off-kilter indie pop songs that hook hard on the heartstrings as they crisscross in and out of chaos, they developed their formidable sound via a slew of live shows (including sets at 2000 Trees and Y Not Festival, and support shows for the likes of The Xcerts and LIRR).

The Blood Orange Sessions EP is released 23rd August 2019 via Small Pond Recordings
