Emerging Artist Ayia Gold Unveils Debut Single ‘Blue Skies’

Singer-songwriter Ayia Gold bares all in her soulful debut track ‘Blue Skies’, out now via Two Way Street and Awal.

The soul-laden, R&B-tinged slow jam is a romantic journey. “Blue Skies is an intimate song about the beauty & vulnerability of falling in love. Wearing your heart on your sleeve and the desire for that same openness back”, she says about the genre-blurring debut single.

Delivering heartfelt, spine-tingling vocals, the artist’s powerful songwriting shows emotional and musical maturity, putting her next to the new generation of thoughtful empowering female singers currently shaping the UK R&B/Soul scene, including Jorja SmithMahalia and Grace Carter.

Born and raised in London, the Moroccan-Italian artist began singing at an early age – influenced by “timeless artists”– she says as she mentions her love for the likes of Whitney HoustonAaliyah and Alicia Keys. Using poetry & songwriting as an outlet, Ayia went on to join the renowned BRIT School, where she honed her craft as a songwriter and performer.

Co-written and produced by Max Herman (The Royal Philharmonic OrchestraHamza Hawsawi and others), the song was recorded and mixed at Metropolis Studios by Grammy Award-winner Liam Nolan (‘2017 Album of The Year’for his work on Adele’s breaking record ‘25’ and ‘Record of The Year’ for ‘Hello’) and mastered by the renowned Mazen Murad.

Armed with a once heard, never forgotten voice, Ayia Gold is sure to make her mark when ‘Blue Skies’ is released.
