Enter Shikari’s Rou Reynolds to Launch New Book with Exclusive Book Signing and Acoustic Sets

On 28th May 2019, Faber Music will publish a new book from Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari, ‘Dear Future Historians (Lyrics and Exegesis of Rou Reynolds for the music of Enter Shikari 2006 – 2019)’. Pre order here: https://www.entershikari.com/posts/dear-future-historians-2006-2019

The book compiles the contents of the original March 2017 deluxe hardback ‘Dear Future Historians’ along with its “sequel” 2018 paperback ‘The Spark’, both of which are now out-of-print and much sought after, along with three more track lyrics and essays plus new artwork and photos. ‘Dear Future Historians: 2006-2019’ delves into the heart of the band, featuring Rou Reynolds’ song interpretations and social commentary, alongside all of their lyrics to date. Printed in full colour throughout it includes album artwork, posters, and exclusive photographs. Rou says:

“I’m a strong believer that dissection and analysis of music or art does not – contrary to popular belief – diminish it or reduce its magic. As Beethoven said, “Don’t only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets; art deserves that”. I hope readers of this piece of explanatory literature will find it exciting and interesting.”

To coincide with the publication of the book there will be an exclusive book signing tour which includes an acoustic set from Reynolds himself. Dates below:

28th May: Oxford Blackwell’s, 5-6pm*
29th May: Manchester Blackwell’s, 6pm
1st June: Bristol Rough Trade, 2pm-3pm
2nd June: Nottingham Rough Trade, 2pm-3pm

Over the course of fifteen years and five huge albums Enter Shikari have become one of the most influential British rock bands of their generation, creating a wealth of deeply personal and politicised music through their belief that music can inspire change.

As well as work with the band Rou Reynolds, front man, vocalist, principal songwriter and producer, has featured as guest vocalist on tracks for Crossfaith, Hacktivist, The Qemists and Hospital Records’ producer Keeno, as well as remixing artists as diverse as Bring Me The Horizon, Scroobius Pip, The Slow Readers Club and Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly. Rou has been vocal about his struggles with anxiety which came to a peak in 2015 and heavily influenced the writing of the album ‘The Spark’. He is also an active supporter and advocate for social change.
