Following the release of their video single ‘Disconnected’ and a sold-out launch show at Hope & Anchor in Islington on Friday 15th March, London’s hard rock duo Colt 48 are pleased to unveil yet another track from their upcoming EP! The ‘Negatives’ EP will release to the public on Friday 29th March, and in anticipation of this the band have made ‘Out of Habit’ available exclusively to rock radio and as a listening video on YouTube.
While previous single ‘Disconnected’ (released 18th February) showcased punchy, distorted and low-slung guitar riffs topped with an aggressive vocal performance from frontman Adam Jerome, their second single reveals a slightly different face of Colt 48’s music.
Dancing effortlessly between soft, vulnerable verses and a satisfyingly expansive chorus, Colt 48’s ‘Out of Habit’ once again taps into a pool of early 2000s nu-metal influence, only this time applying a melodic and vocal distinction more akin with the likes of Staind and Aaron Lewis. ‘Out of Habit’ is three and a half minutes of deeply emotional musical content, and while Adam Jerome and Matt Savini can undoubtedly blow socks off with their sheer power and aggression, their latest offering proves that the lifelong friends are tapped into something more than just pure adrenaline.
The release of ‘Out Of Habit’ comes as the band prepare to embark on a short run of UK tour dates across Birmingham, Edinburgh, Brighton and more. These additional dates will be supported by 10. Gauge, and will lead Colt 48 into their appearance at Camden Rocks festival on 2nd June.
