High Rise Release New Track ‘Endeavours’

High Rise are excited to share the video for “Endeavours”, taken from their forthcoming EP of the same name set for release March 29th 2019.

Vocalist Jovic Staddon explains:

“When I  was 18, I would stay out drinking till late at night and not really care about much. When I got paid I would spend all I had really quickly and took zero responsibility for anything. My attitude and situation got even worse once I started to borrow money using pay-day loan services just so that I could go out and “have fun”. I thought I knew what was best… I really didn’t. After a while, I ran out of money and did the worst thing possible… I stole money from my parents.

I didn’t call it an addiction at first but I guess it was as I just wanted to drink every day. None of it made me feel any better about myself but at the time, being inebriated or drunk, I felt like nothing could touch me. I was great at hiding my emotions and always just put on a brave face.  All I ever really wanted was to just be happy but I never was going to be if I carried on like that.  My friends told me to come clean and tell my family.

I struck up the courage and told my parents that I needed to talk to them. When we all sat down my Mum started to cry – they already knew what I had done. After a long and honest conversation with them both, I realised how much my parents meant to me. They are my whole world and I will never let them down again. It has taken them a long time for them to forgive me – who could blame them?  Regardless of what you may have done in the past, if you’re given a second chance, prove yourself worthy of it.

“Endeavours” was engineered, mixed and mastered by Oz Craggs (Feed The Rhino, NECK DEEP, Mallory Knox) at Hidden Track Studios in Folkestone, Kent. Hi-octane, impassioned and blistering with huge choruses; ‘Endeavours’ sees the band meticulously sharpen their songwriting blade and hone their abilities to combine pulverising, breakneck riffs with life-affirming, anthemic vocal melodies cut with venomous screams.

“This EP is a journey and a reflection on our cultural surroundings. Each song reflects the struggles we face in day to day life, whether that be losing someone close to you or seeing alcohol or substance abuse as a means to escape reality. The name ‘Endeavours’ came from the thought that no one’s journey is ever quite over and through our struggles to succeed, we forget to appreciate the more important things around us.”
