So how has the release of Love Signals gone down with fans so far?
Well it’s going well, my fans are loving the new album. I’m so grateful for all the love and support it’s getting.
Can you tell something about the album no one else knows?
Well I wanted this album to be enriched with soul, giving you that Marvin Gaye, Sam Cook, Odis reading feel, So I called on my dear friend Barry Eastmond and the rest is History .
What’s your favorite track from the album?
My Favorite Track on the album is called “All I’ll Ever Ask”, it’s like reading something out of a poetry book. It speaks to your heart, allowing Love to do what it does.
If you could work with any band or artist on a new song, who would it be and why?
Well I’m absolutely in love with Jennifer Hudson, so if I would work with any artist on a new song it would have to be Ms. Hudson.
How much do you owe to Starfleet Music for your career to date?
You can’t put a price on all the love & support that I’ve gotten form Starfleet.
So you’ve been in the business for over 30 years now, what has been your most memorable moment?
Playing You Are my Lady for my mom after I first recorded it. She was the first to listen it and it brought her to tears.
Will you be touring at all this year?
Yes, I’m currently touring right now. I’ll be touring in Washington & California the beginning of August.
What do you get up to in your spare time when not working on music?
Well when I’m not on the road touring and working on Music, I’m in the kitchen cooking, I’m actually working on a new cook book called Freddie Jackson’s 30 days to Romance.
What was the first ever gig you went to?
My first gig was at my moms church while she was singing a solo. She went into labor & gave birth to me. So let’s just say I was the special guest for the evening. Lol!
