Who We Are Releases Lyric Video For ‘Sophia’

Following on from the highly anticipated and very successful first official release of the band – Memory, featuring Kevin Thrasher of Escape The Fate – Lost Angeles quartet Who We Are is now back with the second single off the formation’s debut self-titled EP – Sophia! Creating a captivating blend of melodic vocal harmonies, intense screams, gritty guitars, a prominent rhythm section and an abundance of talent from the young musicians, “Sophia” showcases the more sinister and aggressive nature of the group through the direct and hard-hitting composition and the genuine sincerity of the utilized lyrics, all further highlighted by the accompanying video’s animation, providing the perfect backdrop to enhance the deeper themes of the lyrical content.

Who We Are describes Sophia further: ‘This lyric video depicts the source of the songs inspiration. I was friends with the girl in the videos silhouettes. We were walking to school one day and she was hit by a car and killed. Her father took it very hard and it impacted me directly as she was my friend. It made me realize how precious life is and not to take it for granted. The song itself tells the story of a deranged man, lost in his own depression, seeking to fill the void and empty space left behind in his daughters absence. I changed her name for the song, obviously to respect the family‘s privacy. It’s an experience that I’ll never forget.’
