It was a night of British alternative rock bands at Southampton’s Engine Rooms as Scottish band Twin Atlantic were joined by The Pale White and Bellevue Days in what was a very entertaining night of live music.

Croydon’s Bellevue Days were up first and we managed to sneak a quick interview before their set which you can check out below!

The band came on to an already packed out crowd and engaged with the crowd from the start with a little bit of Oasis to start before they played their songs. From start to the finish, the set blew me away as they began with Let’s All Be Friends which was a great start to the evening. Guitarist/vocalists Al Bakovi and Lukes were both superb continued with Sleep and Pepper Tea. Bellevue Days are one of those bands that just naturally know how to get a crowd on their side and played the likes of Faith and Ripped Jeans that are both crowd pleasers. Completed by JR on bass/vocals and Reds on drums, the band finished on Black Sheep Baby which was incredibly catchy and a perfect way to send such a powerful set.

Newcastle’s The Pale White were up next and they provided a real electrifying set and played Peace of Mind which was great to see live and certainly one of my favorites of the night with the ending being superb and the riffs being amazing. They also played Reaction on the night which was a real hit of theirs as well as Loveless. The Pale White were simply faultless on the night certainly warmed up the crowd for Twin Atlantic.

Twin Atlantic

Glasgow legends Twin Atlantic arrived late on stage for their own headline slot but it built anticipation of a packed out crowd. Lead singer Sam McTrusty was amazing throughout the set and really got the crowd pumped. The band started with Gold Elephant: Cherry Alligator then played Valhalla before playing the brilliant Make Beast of Myself. Twin Atlantic also played the likes of Hold On and Whispers as well as The Chaser which was all sold tracks. A moment of magic then really occurred as fans sang their hearts out for the chorus of Free and it really hit home to me.

A real favourite of mine was Fall Into the Party which certainly got the party started and this was quickly followed by another classic which was Brothers & Sisters. A brilliant acoustic track Crash Land then followed before they finished on No Sleep and Heart and Soul.

With the night over, I could honestly say any band could headline that stage in the future.
