Scarleth is remarkable and experienced Ukrainian metal band playing music on joint of modern heaviness and diverse melodism. For the time being the band has played several hundreds of live shows, released two full-length albums worldwide and took part in many festivals where Blind Guardian, Rage, Ensiferum, Rotting Christ, Leaves’ Eyes, Kalmah, Cemetery Of Scream, Atrocity and other famous bands performed. Band’s style is expanding constantly and represents mind-blowing mixture of many melodic genres – from power, folk, doom and gothic metal to modern/progressive metal. We caught up with Scarleth as they talked about their latest release and more!
So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?
“The Silver Lining” was great success among our fans. It was acclaimed among critics too, we had seen many positive reviews of it. It is really good album which we are really proud of.
Will you be releasing anything soon?
Next release will be a single of upcoming album. It will be accompanied by a promo video. We plan to begin shooting the video this summer. As for single itself, recording is in the progress now. After the single is released we plan to concentrate on recording of the album, which will start early autumn.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
I think Amaranthe or Within Temptation will be cool, because we have melodic similarities with them, and making a song together will be great experience. But we are open to any offers, sometimes working with completely different artists may lead to great and unexpected results.
How has your latest single been received?
We haven’t released singles yet, only albums. So our new single will be first for us, and we are really enjoying the process of making it and we are sure it will be received well by our fans.
Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?
It is short and catchy song about our band actually, what makes us what we are and what drives our souls. I can not give you any more info because it will be spoiler 🙂
What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?
We do not plan to make any tours this year because recording of the next CD is our main priority right now. However, we will consider any offers, so it is possible that new tour dates will be available really soon for the next year.
What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?
– I think Budokan (Tokyo, Japan) is it. It is legendary place where almost all famous bands were playing and recording live albums. We are really looking forward to bring our music to Japan, we know japanese fans like this kind of metal and we hope to get there really soon.
What else can we expect from you in 2018?
