Interview: Dearly talks latest single

Nashville-based Dearly, previously known as Amanda Jones, recently released her first single under the new moniker titled Get With You Alone.

While branded as Amanda Jones, she achieved some amazing feats, including playing live with YouTube sensations Cimorelli and releasing an EP produced by Martin Johnson (Boys Like Girls). Now, she has rebranded as Dearly. Check out Get With You Alone below!

We managed to catch up with Amanda before the release as she talked about her latest single and more!

So how pumped are you for the release of Get With You Alone?

I’m so pumped!! I’ve been sitting on this song for a while now, and i’m just really excited to finally have it out there.

Can you tell us something about the single no one else knows?

I can’t give too much away, but something special in regards to the song is coming in June.

Will you be releasing an EP/Album this year?

For right now I’m just releasing singles, but would love to have an EP out closer to winter.

What can we expect from Dearly in the future, will this be any different from your previous work?

With this release and my future releases, i’m being very hands on with my visuals and really want my project to speak to people- through the song, visuals, meaning, etc. I feel like these elements were really weak with my old project, and i’m excited to be diving in full force now.

What’s the music scene like in Nashville at the moment?

The pop scene is newly emerging! My favorite part about the overall music scene here is the strong sense of community…people are very supportive and want to help each other.

What do you get up to in your spare time when not working on music?

I love makeup/ being creative with makeup for various photoshoots around Nashville! My best friend Acacia Evans is a photographer, so we collaborate often.

What was the first ever gig you went to?

Oh jeez…we’re bringing it way back. The first show I ever went to was the High School Musical concert tour- I was in 6th grade I believe? It’s not like my music at all now, but that whole era of music/ Disney really shaped me as a person/ motivated me to pursue my passions and dreams.

If you could work with any band or artist on a new song, who would it be and why?

This changes all the time, but I would love to work with a newer act I found on Spotify called Fickle Friends. Their songs are super well written/ they have great energy, so collaborating with them on a track would be rad. I actually discovered them the day before I went through a breakup, and their song really hit me hard in the feels (it’s called “Wake Me Up”- give it a listen!)
