Album Review: Bikini Death Race – Party Animals

Electroclash duo Bikini Death Race release their debut album, the racing ‘Party Animals’. The Yorkshire/Italian pairing kicks off with the Indie programmed ‘Celistico’ which pinballs the ears with a no-tilt beat and feline vocals. Latest single (link below) ‘The Rabbit Hole’ has a brief Lene Lovich moment before releasing a tent filling festival anthem of glow stick, electric pogoing power. The superbly named ‘Zombie Posers’ fluorescently flickers with light bulb sensibilities before ‘Oh Ooh’ and the superbly retro ‘Don’t Talk’ evokes visions of early

Human League. ‘Party Animals’ is musical Manga while ‘Fuck Off And Die’ goes for obvious cathartic release. The accelerating foul mouthed ‘Have You Ever’ gives way to the slightly more atmospheric closer ‘Time Machine’. Bikini Death Race are touring the UK later in the year, for a list of dates and other band information check out their Facebook page.
