Single Review: The DeRellas – High Rise Supersize

Glam-bam Punksters THE DeRELLAS return with a new lead singer and a brand new single, the towering anthem ‘High Rise Supersize’. The opening riff french kisses early ‘Slash ‘N’ Burn’ Manics with a Ramones tongue while Glam Rock cops a sneaky feel around the back. It’s a neon-splattered strip of beautifully crafted Trash city, sneering Rock’ N’ Roll. B-Side ‘Got Something To Say’ punches the Punk clock with pistol-packing precision and the short but sweet track is destined to become a new live favourite. For those looking for the origins of Punk/Trash ‘N’ Roll may want to start with Glam Rockers The Sweet, whose chantastic ‘Fox On The Run’ is given a graffiti DeRellas makeover. THE DeRELLAS squat somewhere in between all the best bits of Glam, Punk, Trash and or any other genre that dresses in leather, lipstick and leopard print while preaching Luv to a disenfranchised generation of Pop terrorists. The DeRellas are back, and how.
