Psykokondriak Are back with a music video for single Psyko Waltz Vol.2! Psykokondriak is a six-piece rock ‘n roll, hip-hop band, offering a fusion of irresistible grooves, sing-along gimmicks, killer scratches and devastating flows. After almost 70 gigs defending their first album ͚Gloomy Days͛, the band gets back on tracks in 2018. Psykokondriak are indeed set to release their second record ͚Machines͛ on digital platforms on April 30th(the vinyl press is planned for May 9th). As a preview, the band just dropped a music video for single Psyko Waltz vol.2 which you can check out below!
We managed to catch up with the band as they talk about their latest single and more!
So how has the release of Psyko Waltz Vol.2 gone down with fans?
Very well. We received a lot of nice comments (« BATH! »). We also have haters (« what the fuck are they talking about ? ») » two things we can obviously consider as a victory.
Can you tell us something about the video no one else knows?
I think the video makes us look bigger and more massively muscled than we are in the real life. That’s pretty cool.
How pumped are you for the release of Machines?
We’re really enthusiastic. It’s a collective work we now rehearse several times a week to make the whole thing sound terrible for the next gigs coming soon. As we said, a lot of fans are waiting at the corner. That’s an exciting period.
How is this different to Gloomy Days?
To understand that, let me give you an idea of our line up.
Basically we play what we call « hip hop rock’n roll » : Bass Guitar DJ Drum and Two MC’s. Gloomy Days, our 1st album was composed as a rock band, arranged as hip hop album. Machines has a hip hop approach, arranged with rock effects. See what I mean ? And more than that, it’s a DIY production. Machines is all about sampling bass and guitars, using an MPC, a Synthesizer and a mic, that’s all. We camped at Doc Florkin’s house (the guitarist, sound engineer of the album) regularly for almost a year. A long, rich and funny experience behind a computer on a sofa, between laugh, bullshit and creation.
What is your favourite track from this album?
Haha…All of them. I love all of them. By the way let me give you the until now secret tracklist of our new album. Make your own choice : Metropolis, Psyko Waltz, Rolling Stone Police, Our Roaring Twenties, Skins and Bones, Kings of Rock, Black Lesbian. We got 3 video clips coming from now to September, check it out !
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
Hum…There are many. Let’s dream a little bit, I could give you a list…Bodycount for sure. Mike D and Ad Rock from the Beastie Boys. Mike Patton. Suicidal Tendencies, George Clinton, Kim Jong Il. They all did terrible stuff.

What do you get up to in your spare time when not working on music?
I plug a Gibson SG on a Tiny Terror Orange Amp and work little jobs to survive to the thrashness of the 21st century.
Will you be touring in 2018 at all?
