The song Skin is a reflection of living day to day life with an atopic skin condition, and the self-confidence issues it can cause. Skin talks of looking into the future and looking past the harder times and in an ideal world, would help to raise awareness for atopic conditions as they are very overlooked by doctors, yet from experience they cause a lifetime of discomfort. Check out Skin below!
We managed to catch up with Oceans as they talk about their latest single and more!
So Skin is a surprise for the fans, how long have you been waiting to share this?
We’ve been eagerly sitting on this surprise for a few months now. Feels good to finally have it out.
Can you tell us anything about the track that no one else knows?
Skin is probably our most favourite song to play live!
So how pumped are you for the release of your EP Far From Composure?
Mate… Too pumped… This has been very long in the pipelines for us and we’re very proud of the EP. It’s a crazy feeling knowing on March 13th everyone can hear it!
Can you tell us anything about this release?
This song touches on the topic of atopic skin conditions and the physical and mental damage it can cause with the pain and even the self confidence problems it leaves you with.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
Not really a band but if I had to impulsively answer that question, I’d say Craig David because why not?!
Will you be touring this year at all to coincide the release of the EP?
We won’t be doing a tour following the immediate release of this EP but we will DEFINITELY be touring this year! We actually have something really exciting in the works relating to this. More on that later…
Will you be playing at festivals at all this year?
We plan to hit the festival season hard this year but as of yet, nothing is booked.
What do you get up to in your spare time when not working on music?
Hah! There is simply no spare time that is not spent on working on music.
What was the first gig you ever attended?
That’s hard to say but I have vivid memories of seeing Metallica at the O2 Arena when I was 13! Mad experience!
