Following a string of acclaimed singles and live shows, and having firmly established themselves as one of the most exciting bands to emerge on the UK rock scene over the past two years, Devonshire rock-trio Reigning Days are set to release their eagerly anticipated debut Eclipse on 13th April, via Marshall Records.
After the success of their 2016 debut self-titled EP, the three-piece have garnered support from the likes of Radio 1, Kerrang and Planet Rock, supported Feeder, Lower Than Atlantis, Enter Shikari and The 1975 and stormed festivals including Download, The Great Escape, Camden Rocks, 2000 Trees and more.
The band signed with Marshall Records in 2017 and set to work recording Eclipse at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The result is a colossal sounding, stadium-sized rock debut, reminiscent of Muse, Royal Blood and Biffy Clyro, which is set to launch the band onto the next level of their career.
Reigning Days are now lending their support, alongside the Marshall label and brand, to this year’s Independent Venue Week, playing shows across the UK between until 4th February. You can check out the remaining dates below!
Feb 1st – London – Nambucca
Feb 3rd – Manchester – Night People
Feb 4th Edinburgh – Sneaky Petes
Check out the band’s latest track Gravity below!
We managed to catch up with lead singer Dan Steer as he talks about the band’s current tour, upcoming album and more!
What has been your favourite gig so far on tour?
All the gigs are special. Sometimes the gigs/towns that you don’t have any expectations of, turn out to be blinding.
So how has the response of ‘Gravity’ been with fans?
The response to ‘Gravity’ has been awesome, it’s the first track that we have given out since finishing the album. Just exited to give you more!
Can you tell us something nobody knows about the track?
No secrets with this track. We’ve put everything out in the open!
How pumped are you for the release of your upcoming album Eclipse?
We cant wait to get this out.. its been far too long, but we are back, and proud of it!
What is your favourite track from the upcoming release?
I would say it;s a song called ‘My Sweet Love’. It’s just raw. A little pocket rocket.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
I would love to to have written with Bowie without out a doubt, but apart from that absolutely anyone, the more people you write with the better you get as a songwriter.
What’s the alternative scene like in Torquay/Teignmouth?
There are a few good bands knocking about, Moriarty being one, the only down side is the lack of venues to play in and make a living from playing.
What was the first gig you all attended?
I think the first proper show I went to was Glasto. That’s one of the downfalls of the South West, it’s quite a mission to see big touring bands as a lot of them don’t go South of Bristol.
