February 4th sees the digital release of the highly anticipated single Find You from 4 piece alt-rock band Vrillon. The Bath-based lads have built up a solid reputation and a cult following in their local area playing sold out shows on a regular basis. Vrillon have built up a solid reputation in the short time since they formed, with the release of their first track Halloween Special released towards the end of 2016. The band comprises of William Hegarty on Bass/Vocals, Lead Guitarist Charlie Quarren-Evans, Drummer George Armstrong and Guitarist Henry Goddard. The band are also set to play Chippenham’s Riverbank on 16 February.
Vrillon released their previous two tracks in March 2017 and you can check out Caged and Look Look Look below!
We managed to catch up with the band as they talked about the upcoming single and more!
How pumped are you for the release of Find You?
As pumped as that one competitive kid in P.E. Class!
Can you tell us something about the track nobody knows?
We wrote the riff by ripping it off one of our older songs and flipping the chord progression.
Can you tell us anything about your debut EP?
It’ll be out by summertime and we plan to throw a big Vrillon release party to celebrate our debut EP and the beginning of the Summer.
What’s the alternative rock scene like in Bath?
It’s been much better than it has been the last few years. We need more venues to support young bands under the age of 18 because new generations of music makers like us really struggle to find new places to play. I’d say the upcoming scene of new alternative bands in the Bath/Bristol area will be massive in the near future! There are some top acts coming through, not just us.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
Portishead because a fusion with trip-hop would sound fat. Or Ty Segall because he is the bomb!
Will you be playing any festivals this year?
We’re working on it, hopefully, yes!
How pumped are you for your show in Chippenham in February?
Yeah quite pumped as we’ll be in with the chance of winning free studio time and a place at a festival.
If you could play at any venue in the world where would it be and why?
CBGB’s if it was still around or ‘The Gasworks’ from Wayne’s World if it was real.
What was the first gig you all ever attended?
Will: Dirt Box Disco at Belvoir Castle in Bath, 2014
Henry/Charlie/George: Johnny Marr at Pavilion in Bath, 2014
