No Hot Ashes release new single Eight Till Late

As a band initially drawn together by their mutual love of 70s & 80s funk & disco records, it’s clear to hear on new single Eight Till Late that their feet remain very much on the dance floor. Marrying the louche strut of Orange Juice and liquid rhythms of Two Door Cinema Club, vocalist Isaac Taylor overlays his agile and distinct vocal stylings on a record that fizzes with a unique and palpable chemistry.

Designed to move the listener physically and emotionally, the lyrics of ‘Eight Till Late’ also see frontman Taylor open-up about his own personal struggles with mental health.
Speaking about the track, Taylor says:

‘The single is about mental health and how it’s affected me and people around me. I wanted to give a fairly honest account of how day to day struggles can weigh on the brain, everything from work to your favourite fizzy drinks being tampered with. As a band we think that modern life is all a bit much and taking time to fix your head is essential.’

The EP was recorded in Manchester with esteemed producer Gavin Monaghan (The Sherlocks, Jaws, Robert Plant).

Our only taster so far of the forthcoming Skint Kids Disco EP, the single offers an impressive insight into what the band have been up to since their last release, the Radio X Track of the Week: ‘Bellyaches’. Standby for even more new music in the new year.

Formed in Stockport, No Hot Ashes were drawn together by a shared love of 70s & 80s Disco Records. With a string of infectious singles in their repertoire (‘Easy Peeler’, ‘Cool Cat’) the band have picked up radio support from BBC 6 Music and Radio X and have already amassed over a million plays on Spotify.

With sensational festival performances at the likes of Reading Festival, Y NOT Festival and Kendal Calling, plus major support slots with Blossoms, Spring King, The Amazons and Prides around the UK, the four piece’s frenetic live show is very much becoming a talking point of the UK live circuit. So much so, that the band were also recently asked to perform in hit BBC drama series The A Word.

Already a smash in their native North-West with a landmark SOLD-OUT show at the 650 capacity Club Academy venue in Manchester to their name this December, keep your eyes peeled for more shows in 2018.
