Beginning to brew anticipation for their next full-length release, Fly is the first single taken from the band’s second album set for release in Spring 2018.
Utilizing the expertise of producer Tom Donovan’s recording techniques and mixed by Mark Rankin (Queens Of The Stone Age, Foster The People, Bloc Party), the new single fosters their organic and earthy sound, amalgamated with layers of contemporary production to create an immediate, long-lasting and impactful piece of experimental indie.
Animal Noise have had an impressive run on the UK summer festival season this year, with a string of arresting performances at Bestival, Boardmasters, Blue Dot, British Summer Time Festival, Fling, Standon Calling, Ramsbottom Festival, T In The Park and Wilkstock amongst others. To put the cherry on top, the band were also invited to play at the legendary Hammersmith Apollo ahead of an anniversary screening of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars Show live at the venue.
Their efforts have picked up love by key tastemakers including God Is In The TV, Louder Than War, Indie Band Guru and XS Noize, and the band have had no trouble turning heads amongst the press. Their previous single ‘Little Things’ from their EP enjoyed radio airplay from BBC 6 Music, Virgin Radio BBC Introducing, and SOHO Radio, with a healthy momentum building as appetite for new music from the trio continues to grow.
Quickly picking up steam, and with an ever-increasing array of champions behind them, Animal Noise evoke promises of a band who could be here to stay for a long time to come, reminding us all why we fell in love with alternative rock in the first place.

We managed to catch up with Animal Noise as they talk about their latest single and more!
How has the release of ‘Fly’ gone down initially?
We’ve had a lot of warm positive reactions from our fans as well as picking up a few more from some of the playlists we’ve been lucky to get added to.
Can you tell us something about the single nobody knows?
The song is about dreams and there’s a section in the lyrics that says: “look up in the air, I’m coming for you, open up your window cos I’m drifting through…”I based that part on a Simpsons reference from the dream sequence where Smithers is fantasising about Mr Burns floating in through his bedroom window.
Can you tell anything about your second album that will be released in Spring 2018?
It’s been a long time coming, and since we had a line-up change with a new bassist at the end of 2016, the songwriting has stepped up a gear with the new material. ‘Fly’ is a good example of where we’re heading creatively.
What was it like working with Tom Donovan and Mark Rankin on the new single?
Tom is always a safe pair of hands for us in the studio, he has a great way of extracting the best takes out of us and injecting good ideas for subtle extra layers. Having Mark Rankin mix this was completely surreal, knowing of the amazing artists he’s worked alongside we were not disappointed hearing where he went with it.
If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?
Josh: It would probably be The Smiths, but just as a sneaky ploy to get Marr and Morrissey in the same room playing together again. Then I’d probably just sit back and listen while they played classic Smiths songs. Its a fool-proof plan.
Jack: It would be Mike Watt. He’s the Bass God! To drum with him would be orgasmic, Minutemen changed my whole outlook on music.
What venue are you most looking forward to playing in your upcoming tour dates?
So far the best part has been playing The Roadmender in Northampton supporting The Undertones. It was a brilliantly sized venue (about 700 cap) the crowd were really responsive and we got a great reaction seeing as we were an unknown support band.
Will you be looking to playing many festivals next year?
Our agent has been busy pulling together a bunch of festivals for 2018. We will be announcing in the new year so rewatch this space!
What was the first ever gig you all attended?
Josh: I think it was Eric Clapton on new years eve when I was 11! He used to do a secret show for Alcoholics anonymous every new year where people from AA could come with their families to a booze-free gig to see the new year in sober. My Auntie was in AA so used to get a few extra tickets.
Jack: It was The Who with my Mummy and Daddy! Quadrophenia tour in Hyde Park I think.
