Cosmos and Creature’s infectious new pop-electro single Young captures the youthful exuberance of the duo’s journey towarsd success. Brandyn Burnette and Molly Moore were cultivating solo music careers before they started collaborating in 2014 under the name Cosmos & Creature. Burnette had just come off a four-year stint signed to Warner Bros. Records, and Moore was transitioning from songwriter to artist.

Burnette and Moore are highly acclaimed songwriters and sought after artists. Brunette’s many accomplishments include writing a number 1 hit for Hedley which won Single of the Year at the Juno Awards as well as charting in the US Top 40 for a single he wrote for Jake Miller. In his solo career, Burnette has garnered over 3 million streams on both Spotify and Youtube and has landed on the Billboard Emerging artist charts for two weeks straight. While Moore is not only a successful songwriter having recently landed a co-write with Leah Michelle (GLEE), she is also an accomplished solo artist with a dedicated fan base.

Their debut single Young is the perfect fusion of progressive pop and electronic with contagious melodies and a driving EDM beat. It’s sure to stick in your head like any great pop song should. The ‘Young’ lyric video captures in fast motion the duo’s plane flight from LA to the New York studio where the song was recorded in Mount Kisco New York’s Dirty Canvas Studios by famed producers Shep & Aaron from Dirty Canvas (American Authors, Young Rising Sons, Karma Killers).

With a quickly growing fan base and industry attention, Cosmos & Creatures are fast becoming one of the pop/electronic acts of the year.

We managed to catch up with the duo about their latest single, new EP, fans and more!

So how has the single ‘Young’ gone so far?

Really well for us! It’s almost at a million plays on Spotify which is really cool since we put it out around a month ago.

Tell us a little bit about the track

We wrote it a year ago & recorded it in Mt Kisco with a production team called Dirty Canvas. It’s got organic & electronic elements, with a touch of soul.

How does it feel to have 8 million Spotify stream and named by Billboard as an emerging artist to watch?

We feel so lucky & blessed that we’re able to share music with people that can connect with it.

Would you ever consider possibly doing more acoustic singles?

Definitely! We love stripping down the songs.

What is the main goal for you two in the coming year or so?

We’d love to get on tour & also plan to release our first EP.

Can you tell us about the EP on the way?

We’ve got 3 of the songs finished & we’re working on a few more to finish up the body of work. It’s got an uplifting vibe like Young and we’re excited to get the record out there.

How was it recording with Vicetone and Lost Kings?

It was a lot of fun, the ideas came together pretty quickly for both songs.

Would you consider doing a tour in the UK some time?

Abso-friggin-lutely 😉

How much does your fans mean to you guys?

Support is truly everything. The whole point of creating art is to share it and relate with other people, so that is definitely the best part for us. We try to keep in touch as much as we can.

What’s the music scene like in LA?

It’s definitely prolific. There are tons of songwriters & producers to collaborate with so I think having success in the LA music scene requires a healthy balance of being open to working with new people & also finding the ones that get you & that you know you work well with.

What’s the relationship between you two, you seem to connect pretty well.

We are in love and making music… so we’re together 24/7 pretty much. It comes with it’s challenges but it feels like the luckiest dream to live… to work & play with the one you love.
