Nimmo have unveiled their new single Dancing Makes Us Brave which premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World last week. Nimmo have been creating a steady buzz, recently supporting the likes of Years and Years and Jack Garrat, and are becoming a fixture on taste maker’s ‘ones to watch’ lists. They released My Only Friend back in June which has been a massive hit for the lads. Nimmo are a unique electronic five-piece who can be traced back to the decade-long friendship of co-vocalists Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett. They are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album, finding time between recording sessions to tour. They are currently supporting MØ and will headline a number of venues in November.

We managed to catch up with the lads about their upcoming album, latest single, tour and more!
How has the release of My Only Friend gone?
Its been great! when we put the track out we got onto Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s hottest record in the world which was great. I swore on air though haha. But yeah, The reaction to the track has been really great so far!
Is this any different to any of your other releases?
Yeah, for sure. My Only Friend was the first proper release of the album so it definitely felt like a big step up. Its a big milestone in our progression as band.
Is there talks at all for an EP/Album this year?
We have recorded an album. We recorded it with Oli Bayston (Boxed In) this summer and its FINISHED. it will be out early next year!
How are you looking forward to your tour in October/November?
we are so excited to get out and play. We are heading to some of our favourite cities in the country and we are hyped to finally do a proper headline tour. Cant wait to reach out to so many of the fans that have been supporting us.
How much does your fans mean to you?
Our fans mean everything to us as a band. They are the people our music in is conversation with. They are the people who share our vision and support our dream so yes. the fans are everything 🙂
If you could work with any artist in the world, who would it be and why?
Bjork. Because theres no rawer more forward thinking artist in my eyes. She would drag something special from us. Probably just being in the same room as her would drag something special out to be honest.
What’s the goal for you guys in the next few years?
In the next few years we want to be playing shows, touring touring touring.
