Formed of Rishi Dhir (Vocals/Bass/Sitar), Miles Dupire (Drums/Vocals) and Gabriel Lambert (Guitar/Vocals), Canada-based psych-rock trio Elephant Stone, are  pleased to reveal they will release their new full length album Ship of Fools later this year, with a worldwide digital release on September 16th through their own label Elephants On Parade / Believe and the UK physical release out on November 25th via California label Burger Records.

The band have also announced an extensive list of 2016 tour dates covering Canada, the US, the EU and the UK. List of UK dates:

10/12/16 – London – Shacklewell Arms
11/12/16 – Manchester – Soup Kitchen

To celebrate the wonderful news, the band have just dropped a new video for latest single ‘Andromeda’. Check out the video below:

Commenting on the inspiration behind the single, Dhir explains; “Around Jan 2015, NASA released images of the Andromeda galaxy taken by the Hubble telescope. I was deep in the writing for Ship of Fools and was scouring the net for inspiration. I came upon an article in a science magazine describing what can be seen from the photograph. There were lines describing the stars as ‘grains of sand from a wizard’s hand’, or something like that.”

“Anyhow, I found the article very poetic and inspiring. Pair this with the fact that my musical obsession at the time was Air’s soundtrack for the color reissue of Le Voyage Dans La Lune and I was working with the imagery of Bosch’s “Ship of Fools”. So, there’s a lot in this song that may not be so obvious. The icing on the cake, though, was that NASA had also just released via Soundcloud a library of audio recordings (copyright free!), so I downloaded some of the tracks and added them to the outro. It’s all very pop art.”

Elephant Stone’s debut album, The Seven Seas, was nominated for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize, which honors the best full-length Canadian album. In 2013, they released their second full-length LP, Elephant Stone and the album received critical acclaim from NPR, Brooklyn Vegan, Consequence of Sound and more.

In 2014, they released The Three Poisons, which was followed by a remix album, ES3PRMX, the following year featuring contributions from Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tom Furse of The Horrors, Alex Maas of The Black Angels and Peter Holmström of The Dandy Warhols.

And what a way to continue their enormous success, by releasing their 4th full-length LP, Ship of Fools.
