Hertfordshire four piece The Hunna have released their new album 100 today via High Time Records. Since bursting onto the scene back in October last year, the band are fast becoming one of the hottest emerging acts of 2016. . Not only has previous single You & Me, had overwhelming support from the likes of Radio 1 (‘New Band of The Week’ in May), 4Music and Kerrang!, the band have amassed a whopping 3.1 million combined streams on Spotify. The Hunna will play an intimate album release show at HMV London this evening at 6pm (26th August) before heading of to Reading & Leeds Festival this weekend. The Hunna will play a number of shows in September/October across the UK (see list at bottom). The band consists of Ryan Potter (Vocals/Guitar), Dan Dorney (Lead Guitar), Jermaine Angin (Bass) and Jack Metcalfe (Drums). You can listen to Bonfire below from the new album 100.

I caught up with drummer Jack as he talked about the release of the album, Reading & Leeds Festival, fans and more!

How proud are you guys with your debut album that is set for release this week?
We’re really proud and excited for the release of 100 this week. We worked super hard on the album and put our all into it and can’t wait for everyone to hear our debut.
Having started out less than a year a go, are you surprised how far the band has got in such a short time?
We have been a band for 4 years now playing and writing behind the scenes. Mastering our craft has been key & also preparing for our launch was really important but since released we have been blown away by the amount of support, love and opportunities that have come our way and we can’t wait to continue our Hunna journey.
Bonfire is quickly approaching 100,000 views on YouTube, how does this make you feel knowing the song has had so much publicity?
It’s gnarly we love bonfire as its one of our first songs we wrote together and Haris Nukem smashed the video and to have lots of views on YouTube is sick.
How much support has the guys at High Time Records gave you running up to this album release?
Lots of support, they have got us on loads of platforms and pushed the music and movement in the right direction from day one. The label is achieving many accomplishments that others haven’t in such a short space of time. High Time Squad!
Are you looking forward to the tour over September/October?
We can’t wait to get back out there and play to the amazing H squad!
How stoked are you to be playing Reading & Leeds Festival?
We are so syked to play Reading n Leeds! One of the dopest big festivals around with so many other rad artists playing we are grateful to be a part of.
What has been your highlight since starting up the band?
Our sell out show at Electric Ballroom was one as it was a LIT show and one of the biggest crowds we have ever played to.
If you could perform alongside one band, who would it be?
So many to pick from as we are fans of so many artists and bands but it would have to be Kings of Leon as they are magic!
How much does the fans that support you who buy merch and go to the gigs mean to you guys?
They mean the world to us, without their love and support we wouldn’t be playing all these awesome shows! We get so hyped seeing fans in our merch and we have a lot more to offer in the near future. Swag! 1hunna ya’ll x
