Celebrating 20 years of 2000trees Festival in 2027, the multi-award-winning festival today, announces its first wave of bands for next year’s summer event.
From 2000trees Festival organiser, James Scarlett – “I’m very proud of where we are as we come into celebrating 20 years! It is still the original 6 friends that started 2000trees and we’re all still involved in some way, and that isn’t going to change. We’ve held on to be independent and continued our original aim, which was to create a festival that we would want to go to ourselves and nurture new artists just as much as we want to celebrate the bigger acts. It seems wild to think how it began and to have the rich history of acts like Frank Turner, Idles, Wolf Alice, George Ezra, Kneecap and so many more that have gone onto incredible things. 2027 is going to be a massive celebration”
The first main stage closer to be announced really needs no introduction – New Found Glory have been at the forefront of alternative music for decades and are proud to be making their 2000trees debut in 2027, by performing two exclusive sets, celebrating 30 years of the band. The band will perform a deep cuts set in the Forest on the Friday.
“All year we have been working on shows in 2027 to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of NFG. Chad was a part of all these plans and will be there in spirit with us as we celebrate with our fans all around the world. And like BEANS ON TOAST we’re excited to kick it off with the 2000trees announcement in the UK!” say the band.
There is also an exclusive reunion of the beloved band – Reuben. Frontman and vocalist Jamie Lenman has since played every stage at the festival, but this will be the first ever time for his now legendary band to step out in front of a Trees audience. We are not quite sure how organiser James Scarlett made this one happen, but we all need to embrace and celebrate it! Watch the video here
Also announced today are a host of 2000trees Festival favourites and returning bands, to celebrate the festivals’ 20 years. These include the magnificent goth rock drama of Creeper (who first played on The Cave stage back in 2015), US band of the moment Mannequin Pussy (who played at 1pm on the 2nd stage back in 2022), and The Menzingers, who not only have played the festival before, but will be back with a celebration all of their own, an ‘After The Party’ 10 year album anniversary performance.
Fast rising UK rock band unpeople will be back in our fields- “we are excited to return to upcote farm next year! having been born as a band at trees in 2023, it’s safe to say this festival means a great deal to us. we can’t thank james and the team enough for their continued support not only for us, but for the community and overall scene. untreeple 2027.”
Joining these will be more incredible bands like US punks Fever 333, experimental rock 2 piece Chalk (who are supporting Fontaines DC on their European arena tour), and award winning UK artist Native James, who says “I can’t believe it! I’ll be so real to have a place on the Main Stage is just nuts. It’s Naruto runs all day until I play… let’s create carnage.”
Also playing will be US punk band Bayside, one of the most exciting UK heavy bands around in the form of Vower AND after 10 years without playing togethe, 2000trees will see Lonely The Brave return with original vocalist Dave Jakes. INME are also back -a band that actually headlined the very first 2000trees and will be performing a special 2007 anniversary set, and Crooks who are a local Cheltenham post-hardcore heroes return for their first gig since 2016.
If that wasn’t already enough for a first announcement, 2000trees 2027 will also feature a stage takeover by The Revival Tour, curated by Chuck Ragan from Hot Water Music and featuring Brian Fallon (of The Gaslight Anthem) and Dave Hause.
