Prolific Singer Songwriter Todd Kolod, mainly known for his extensive work with folk rock band JustFolk, is sharing a collection of his early works from Daddy-Doo Band in a compilation release entitled “Daddy-Done: 2003-2009”. This release contains a range of emotionally charged, somber and lush acoustic folk informed by Todd’s unique craftsmanship.
Todd Kolod has penned 70 songs in 70 years. The first batch with Daddy-Doo Band and then with JustFolk. Notably, Todd is currently in Ukraine helping with humanitarian efforts.
“The early songs were one take wonders. We recorded live with the full band and often took the first take, with all the blemishes. The later songs had the skilled production of John Richardson. This compilation offers a window into the music that would one day become the band JustFolk.”
Daddy-Doo Band impressively sold 5,000 cassettes and CDs with all proceeds to the Saint Paul Public Schools. As for the name’s origin, Todd adds ” ‘Daddy-Doo’ was a nickname my younger son coined for me when he was in elementary school. It was derived from a show he watched: Scooby-Doo.”

Artist Biography:
Todd Kolod was an early childhood teacher and parent educator with the Saint Paul Public Schools from 1985-2012. During the years 2003-2009 Kolod assembled a band which included professional musicians who were participants in his fathers parenting groups. And there was one mom, too, from a mixed parenting group. All proceeds went to the Rondo ECFE Parent Advisory Council. Kolod was the only musical amateur, the band’s community organizer. Some of the band members had considerable professional success, even hitting the big time.
