South London alt-rock firestarter Oliver Anderson releases his latest 5-track EP, To Kill A Saint, a raw, unfiltered exploration of taboo themes, political frustration and the darker corners of the human psyche. Led by the explosive title track, the EP cements Anderson as one of the UK’s most provocative emerging artists.
Known for pushing boundaries and blending genres, Anderson has already turned heads with releases from the EP, like the anti-corruption punk-rock barrage “Sinking Ship” and the brooding post-grunge descent into mental health and suicide, “Echo Chamber.” With To Kill A Saint, he raises the stakes even further, delivering a project as gritty as it is fearless.
Created with producer Jennings Couch at Holywell Studios, To Kill A Saint chronicles a month-long dive into atmosphere, distortion, and emotional intensity. The EP traces Anderson’s sonic evolution, from his lighter, more upbeat side with tracks like Money (Life), to his heavier evolving alt-rock identity as seen in the title track To Kill a Saint.
“To Kill a Saint is a direct call out to the bloody past of the Christian faith. The abuse of innocent people who believed in alternative religions. The murder of women accused as witches. The brutal truth behind the peaceful facade.” States Oliver.
The title track, written on the same bleak day as “Echo Chamber,” was born from a moment of emotional collapse, a point where sadness, anger, and disillusionment collided. Channelling historical witch hunts, religious persecution, and the vilification of alternative belief systems, “To Kill A Saint” delivers a striking blend of gothic western, classic rock grit, and post-punk unease.
With To Kill A Saint, Oliver Anderson steps into the spotlight with purpose, grit, and something to say. And he’s only just getting started.
