A triumphant return indeed.
Rock ‘n’ Roll never dies; it lovingly gets twisted, twirled, and reshaped for a bigger, better, and brighter sound. The TR5’S return with their second full-length release, the swing and simmering ‘A Triumphant Return’. Opener ‘Showdown At The Ace Cafe’ goes down like a Coke float at Arnolds during a heatwave before ‘Just Like That’ mixes a dash of skiffle with R’N’R and a feather touch brushing over the Rock accelerator, and you’ll be shaking those hips along to the 1-2-3 contagious chorus.
‘My Boy Elvis’ evokes thoughts of quiffs, DA haircuts and of course The King, while ‘If You’ve Gotta Pick A Baby’ bubbles nicely away, as does the gentle poke in the eyes of ‘Hypocrite’. ‘Take Control’, ‘Please Yourself’ and the late night diner neon of ‘Oh Darling’ wrap up this tip top, hip swaying, foot tapping Rock ‘N’ Roll showpiece.
