Stars Go Dim Releases ‘Roses:’ A Masterclass In Vintage Pop Balladry

Mainstream pop band Stars Go Dim returns with his shimmering new album, ‘Roses,’ a retro-pop joy featuring the funk triumph ‘Mama Don’t Lie (Alright)’ to the heartfelt acoustic ballad ‘G.I.R.L’. Blended with messages of hope, faith, and love, this genre-blending joy is both a sun-soaked contemplation of life’s highs and lows and a melodic, colourful rich tapestry you’ll be eager to revisit time and time again.

Title track ‘Roses’ encapsulates the album’s energetic spirit, standing out as a harmony-infused display of trademark uplifting pop. The chorus lifts into an instant anthem, accelerated to towering heights by vocals that glide and soar with soul-stirring power. ‘A Little Light’ evokes a similar sense of melancholy, glittering with intimate melodies and poignant lyricism.

Reflecting on the release, Chris shared: “I’m so excited to release my new project, “Roses’, into the world.  I began touring when I was 10 years old. I believe this is the best and most honest music I’ve ever made.  I’ve had the privilege of a long and successful career.

“Throughout the years I’ve been fortunate enough to share the bill with some of the largest artists in the world, from John Mayer and Justin Bieber to Elton John and the Goo Goo Dolls among many more.  I’ve had incredible highs and difficult lows.  So now, after all these years to still get to do this thing I love so deeply, I’m so incredibly grateful.”

With multiple top 5 singles under his belt and 15 years in the industry, ‘Roses’ is a bold departure from any of his previous works. The striking reminiscence of 60s and 70s golden-age classic pop glows throughout each song, following a resonant narrative dedicated to his family whilst evoking a modern edge.

The album provides a surprise around each corner – songs like ‘Waste Of Time’ combine vintage organs with melancholic reflections, while uptempo closer ‘Down To Earth’ is rich with positivity and hope, infused with an old-school, funky charm reminiscent of Stevie Wonder. ‘Discover God’ tugs at the heart strings, laying his soul bare through angelic vocals and a gentle piano melody that soothes and uplifts.

In short, ‘Roses’ is like a warm embrace in musical form – intimate, genuine and anthemic. If you’re seeking music embedded in hope, this is one album to add to your July rotation.
