The latest from Brit Pop Rock Icon DarRa is a tune that is reminiscent of what iconic band Chicago would belt out. A track builds over its time period and has an intrigue arrangement that doesn’t follow the usual pathway of repetition. Titled Eden: a unique global connection that makes Dar.Ra and his Kusha Deep Record label stand out. Horns that were played in Nigeria by the Horn Squad, cut to perfection, from the score; drums recorded in America, the rest recorded by Dar.Ra in his studio in England, which has now moved to Wales to the Cambrian Mountains,
EDEN is a sonic sculpture that had its twists and turns that was almost lost in the creative rubble of other battered pieces of symphonic art. Titled Eden, the song reveals the truthful endeavours of this epic journey we call life. The heroic protagonist of this story has to return back to his hometown which he left to secure his fame and fortune. A desire that had taken sacrifices and love lost along the way.
As DarRa puts it: “I had to come back to see if I had been living in a fantasy’ lyric asks if any of those experiences were actually real, or just a distorted picture of what you thought the past was. It’s that past that holds us back from truly living in your best present moment, we hold onto these events and allow them to stop us moving forward. Eden is our destination, although the lyric is asking to take us back to a place called Eden, it’s not on this timeline, it’s an eternal call for our souls to be returned to a place where they can roam free, unbound by the pain of yesterday. Let us all strive to be free from the ghosts of the past and move towards our Eden.”
