Hot Apollo Ignites 2025 with Fiery New Single and Album Announcement

Canada’s flamboyant punk provocateurs Hot Apollo are turning up the heat this summer with the release of their latest single, “We’re Hot Apollo,” dropping July 4th, 2025. The track is the first salvo from their upcoming full-length album, Against the Odds, Because We’re Gods, which lands December 26th, 2025, via SelfMadeRecords L.L.C. and Earache Records EDD.

Led by the magnetic and genre-defying Jaymes Buckman, Hot Apollo has built a reputation for channeling the glamour of Ziggy Stardust, the snarl of Iggy Pop, and the eclectic brilliance of bands like Talking Heads and The B-52’s. “We’re Hot Apollo” is expected to further cement the band’s status as one of Canada’s most thrilling underground acts—a glitter-drenched, leather-wrapped celebration of identity, defiance, and pure sonic electricity.

The new single arrives just in time to soundtrack your summer rebellion, with an accompanying music video slated for release on August 1st. From there, Hot Apollo continues their blitz of releases leading up to the album, including two more singles—“Slayance” on September 2nd (with a Halloween-themed video premiere on October 31st) and “Never Stay Down” on November 4th. Each song is a fiery teaser for the album’s full tracklist, which includes nine tracks of unapologetic punk power, including “Beltane,” “Gjallarbru,” and the rousing “So Toned Up.”

About the Album

Against the Odds, Because We’re Gods is more than a punk rock record—it’s a declaration of survival, transformation, and mythic self-belief. All tracks are written and performed by Hot Apollo, with lyrics penned by Jaymes Buckman. The album’s themes span esoteric mysticism (“Gjallarbru”), postmodern joy (“Stop Drop”), and rallying cries of perseverance (“Never Stay Down”).

Hot Apollo: A Brief History

Formed in the fires of Toronto’s indie punk scene, Hot Apollo first turned heads with their 2014 EP Public Exposure. Since then, the group has kept a steady stream of genre-blending singles rolling out, including “Laser Days,” “Gwen Stacy,” “Baby Lord,” and “Perfect Storm.” Their 2022 debut album Invented Music solidified them as a sonic force, equal parts glam rock, punk defiance, and performance art. They’ve continued that trajectory with 2023 releases “Fistigons,” “Seraph Gold Shake,” and “Tempest Rock.”

Hot Apollo’s music evokes the melancholy of The Cure, the theatrical punch of David Bowie, and the off-kilter charm of early-80s new wave—all delivered with a 21st-century swagger.
