“Home for Christmas” is no different, with Rowe’s ultimate goal being to “really capture what a holiday in the southwest feels like.” While the rest of us don our winter coats and make snow angels, winter wonderland takes a different form in the desert, as inhabitants can be found “bask[ing] in the sunshine during the day, having holiday barbecues,” and getting “cozied up around backyard campfires” when the temperatures drop at night, Rowe mentions.

Rowe wants to pay homage to a familiar holiday in a special way, stating that “Arizona at Christmastime is magical—the saguaros covered in lights, the big sky full of stars, the howl of coyotes…Mexican hot chocolate, bright bougainvillea blooming…these are all parts of the Arizona Christmas that we wanted to capture in this song.”
