Hozier releases powerful music video for new single ‘Nobody’s Soldier’ taken from recently released ‘Unaired EP’

World-renowned, and now UK Number 1-selling singer-songwriter Hozier today drops the powerful video for his new single ‘Nobody’s Soldier’ – taken from a new second instalment of never-heard-before treats for fans in the shape of Unaired EP – out now.

The track, highlighting the hugely problematic issues of global arms dealing, comes with a powerful music video, directed by Daniel Ryan here.

The last few weeks has seen some cryptic, exciting teasing, with an initial snippet of ‘Nobody’s Soldier’ posted to setlist.fm, whipping fans into a whirlwind of intrigue, followed by it’s global live debut in full for a thrilled audience at Lollapalooza, during Hozier’s headline set on the Bud Light Stage in Chicago on August 1st.

Unaired EP, which arrived on August 16th, contains three unreleased songs, originally recorded during the sessions for latest chart-topping album Unreal Unearth. As well as ‘Nobody’s Soldier’, the EP includes ‘July’, produced by Jeff ‘Gitty’ Gitelman (Anderson .Paak, H.E.R.), and ‘That You Are’, produced by Gus Seyffert (Beck, Michael Kiwanuka) – featuring the enthralling Syrian-American folk artist Bedouine.

In a note to fans, Hozier says; “Dear Souls, I want to thank each and everyone of you for everything over this past year. It’s been a privilege to travel and play the music and be met with so much love and support. This has been a very special time for me, thank you all sincerely.

“Nobody’s Soldier,” which some of you may have heard live already, “July,” the sister song of “Wildflower and Barley,” written while awaiting the pandemic’s passing, and “That You Are,” a song that I was blessed to write with Bedouine in Los Angeles and record together shortly after.

I sincerely hope you enjoy these additional songs from this chapter. Thank you again for your support, I hope to see some of you at a show soon!”

Following a recent spate of career-affirming milestones that saw Hozier score his first ever UK number 1 album with Unreal Unearth, outselling the entire UK Top 5 combined in release week and also scored the top spot in Ireland, shortly followed by part 1’s release of Unheard EP and subsequent UK number 1 single Too Sweet’, beating both Beyoncé & Benson Boone. The track has currently clocked up a huge 1.6 billion global streams already, and its video has been nominated for Best Alternative Song at the upcoming VMA’s.

He also cemented himself within the upper echelons of musical greats, conquering a run of huge outdoor shows selling out London’s Finsbury Park to 45,000 adoring fans – as well as Dublin’s Marlay Park to the same capacity, plus Glasgow Green and Lytham Festival.

Hozier will continue to make his way through the US & Canada throughout August and September, before heading into Australia and New Zealand in November, as his world domination continues. Visit hozier.com for full worldwide dates and tickets.
