Welcoming over 40,000 festival goers to Winchester’s Matterley Bowl this week, Boomtown 2024 has officially begun. On Wednesday 7th August the first citizens arrived from all over the country by coach, train, car and bike, and set up camp. At 2pm on Thursday the official City Opening Ceremony took place, throwing the gates open for all to discover the parallel world of the 8 unique city districts, 12 main stages and over 50 hidden venues. The Opening Ceremony for Grand Central and Origin stages begins Friday at 12pm.
An unforgettable and truly transcendent experience awaits, with three full days remaining of music and immersive theatre as part of this year’s storyline Chapter 3: Revolution of Imagination.

With a huge line up of over 450 acts announced just weeks before the festival, a diverse array of standout shows are all still to come between now and Sunday 11th August, from the likes of Skream & Benga, The Pharcyde, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Pendulum DJ SET, Ezra Collective, Viagra Boys, Marc Rebillet, Earth Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay, Soft Play, Greentea Peng, Hak Baker, SBTRKT, Ibibio Sound Machine, Children Of Zeus, Ghetts, Dream Wife, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Bob Vylan x Grove, Sleaford Mods, High Contrast, Black Sun Empire, Lava La Rue and many more besides.
