Fresh from his star-studded headline performance at London’s BST Hyde Park, world-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli – one of the most successful classical artists of all time – has unveiled his new album Duets, bringing together many of his most beloved collaborations alongside brand new songs to mark his 30th anniversary year. Set for release on 25th October via Decca Records/Sugar Music, this career-spanning 32-track collection includes duets with Ed Sheeran, Céline Dion, Sarah Brightman, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, Giorgia, and Luciano Pavarotti, alongside new superstar duets recorded especially for the album with Shania Twain, Chris Stapleton, Gwen Stefani, Marc Anthony, Karol G, Sofia Carson, Lauren Daigle, Elisa, Matteo Bocelli and Hans Zimmer.
The Duets album launches with a new single ‘Da Stanotte in Poi (From This Moment On)’ from Andrea Bocelli and five-time GRAMMY winner Shania Twain – the top-selling female country pop artist of all time. It is a stunning rework of her massive hit ‘From This Moment On’ with newly-recorded lyrics, produced by Rick Nowells. Shania Twain had always loved the idea of performing the song as a classical duet, and now 27 years after its release, she has found the perfect partner for its reinterpretation. The announcement of Bocelli’s new album comes on the eve of a major three-day event in Italy honouring his 30th anniversary, in which stars from around the world will arrive in the tenor’s home town of Lajatico to perform on 15th, 17th and 19th July at the Teatro del Silenzio (Theatre of Silence) – a breathtaking natural amphitheatre in the Tuscan hills. Among those on the bill are Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain, Jon Batiste, Russell Crowe, Brian May, Johnny Depp, David Foster, Matteo Bocelli, Sofia Carson, Zucchero, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Lang Lang, Nadine Sierra, Eros Ramazzotti, Elisa, Laura Pausini, Virginia Bocelli and many more.
This once-in-a-lifetime outdoor performance event will be filmed for global release in cinemas this fall. Entitled ANDREA BOCELLI 30: THE CELEBRATION, itwill be directed by Grammy-nominee and Emmy Award-winner Sam Wrench, who recently directed Taylor Swift – The Eras Tour, the highest grossing concert film of all time. It will be produced by Mercury Studios, Maverick, Almud, Impact Productions, and CitySound & Events, and released theatrically by Fathom.
A separate new documentary about the tenor is also set to hit cinemas this year called Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe, following his journey from a humble performer in a piano bar to an internationally-acclaimed singer with sell-out shows around the world.
This winter, Bocelli will embark on his annual North American Holiday Tour. The new tour includes ten show dates in major cities including San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and Miami, as well as a return to the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City for two performances. The Los Angeles show will mark Bocelli’s first performance ever at The Kia Forum. The tour will kick off in San Diego on 4th November and conclude in Miami, Florida, on 22nd December. In March 2024, Andrea Bocelli kicked off his anniversary year by taking the stage at the Oscars with his son, recording artist Matteo Bocelli, wowing the star-studded Hollywood audience with a surprise performance of his popular song ‘Time To Say Goodbye’, produced and arranged especially for them by two-time Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer. This iconic song, originally released as ‘Con te partirò’ and later as a duet with Sarah Brightman, launched Bocelli to international stardom almost three decades ago, and has since garnered hundreds of millions of streams.
When asked what it was like to duet with such globally-renowned talents over the years, Andrea Bocelli replied: “To mix voices, mix the vibrations, is for me a very exciting experience, sensual and spiritual at the same time. Something intimate and deep is established between the two voices that sing a duet. We singers are in constant search of colleagues able to give life to this alchemy.”
With nearly 90 million records sold worldwide, and one of the most recognizable voices in the entertainment industry, Andrea Bocelli has sold out arena-sized concert events and performed record-breaking live-streams. Bocelli has shared his talents at many major events including the Olympic Games, the World Cup, and Global Citizen. He has earned a Golden Globe, seven Classical BRITs and seven World Music Awards, plus a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
With his new album Duets, Andrea Bocelli continues to surprise and enchant his fans 30 years on. The breadth of collaborations throughout his career so far is testament not only to his remarkable voice, but also highlights his lasting influence and artistry.
