Single Review: LiVES – Come Together #2

“Come Together #2” is my first introduction to LiVES, aka Peter Chisholm, who was the  singer and guitarist of duo The Sea. Co-written by James Morrison, “Come Together #2”  is the lead single from LiVES’ album “Let Them Eat Cake”. The track begins with an  immediately catchy guitar riff before the lyrics bring the listener into a world that we  are all too familiar with – anxiety, the need for therapy, hopelessness and a feeling of  never finding a way out paired with a hope to find the light in the darkness. There is a  sense of the need to “come together” (as the title states) Despite the lyrical theme,  musically this is an upbeat offering which seems to have a slight throwback to 90’s indie  rock / Britpop yet still sounds fresh. Three and a half minutes we can all relate to, which  brings the sobering realisation that we are all in the same mindset no matter who we  are or our background – we all share the problems of the world. “Come Together #2” is  one to keep an ear out for, it has certainly got me curious enough to delve further into  LiVES’ music.
