Yesterday, on the actual 10 year anniversary of The Menzingers’ much-loved album ‘Rented World’, the band have announced a trio of shows to celebrate the record – in their adoptive hometown of Philadelphia and their home away from home in London this December. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday (Philadelphia) / Friday (London).

29 November  Philadelphia, PA – TLA

06 December  London, UK – The Underworld

07 December  London, UK – The Underworld

These venues are relatively intimate settings for The Menzingers these days with their latest shows in London taking place at The Roundhouse and Electric Ballroom (two nights), and Philadelphia’s last concert from the band being at Franklin Music Hall. These three shows are sure to be rousing singalong occasions with an atmosphere no Menzingers fan will want to miss out on. It’s quite apt that The Menzingers should kick off this short run of live dates in Philly, as the title ‘Rented World’ refers to the band’s lifestyle when they moved to the city in 2008. They were renting separate abodes around the city, but maintained a practice space in North Philly where the majority of the record was written.

‘Rented World’ was The Menzingers’ fourth full-length album release and its stellar tracklist includes live staple ‘I Don’t Wanna Be An Asshole Anymore’ which has been screamed back at the band by packed out venues of enthused fans the world over. It features several other fan favourites and set highlights such as ‘Rodent’ and ‘In Remission’. The album was produced by Jonathan Low (Frightened Rabbit, The War on Drugs and The National) and released by the band’s longtime record label Epitaph. Each and every album from The Menzingers sees them growing and pushing themselves as songwriters and ‘Rented World’ was no exception. It is true to the band’s punk roots, while fearlessly colliding the snarl of early emo with grungy, 90s grit (‘Bad Things’) and exploring the celestial expanse of post-rock (‘Transient Love’).

The Menzingers released their latest album ‘Some Of It Was True’ via Epitaph last year to critical acclaim. They continue to be some of the most accomplished songwriters and one of the most vital live bands of their generation.
