Imagine a Sea of Dreams, where waves shimmer like celestial stars and the horizon seamlessly merges with infinity. This enchanting backdrop sets the stage for “Sea of Dreams,” the captivating new music video by Aline Happ. The song is one of the original tracks from the album “Branching Out,” the artist’s solo debut. Known for her work with Lyria, considered one of the best new names of the symphonic metal scene, Aline showcases a magical side in her solo project, combining Celtic music, folk rock, and symphonic metal. The track evokes a magical journey, full of discoveries and self-discovery, inviting the listener to dive into their own sea of dreams.
Filmed on a paradisiacal beach, the “Sea of Dreams” music video was a labor of love by Aline herself. She not only produced the video but also directed, edited, and contributed to the artwork of the entire project. The audiovisual experience seamlessly weaves together footage captured by Patrick Happ, celebrating the beauty and raw power of nature. Aline’s beautiful melody harmonizes with the visuals, while her long blue dress—designed collaboratively with her mother—adds an extra layer of magic. Among the album’s treasures, this track stands out as one of the four original compositions, complemented by eight Celtic renditions of rock and metal classics.
With elements of Celtic, folk, and rock music, the sound of Aline’s compositions harks back to the fantastical and magical universe, reminding us of ancient legends and myths. “Sea of Dreams” was composed and arranged by Aline Happ, with lyrical co-authorship by Patrick Happ, while Rod Wolf of Lyria recorded the guitars. “Sea of Dreams” is a journey for the listener to delve into themselves, through the sea of dreams, a place where one can discover who they truly are, fulfill their dreams, and connect with nature,” says Aline.
Inspired by Aline Happ’s passion for Celtic music, rock, and medieval themes, the project’s sound merges with the artist’s established career in rock. Drawing inspiration from the world of fantasy, ancient stories, and cultures, and mythologies, the artist shapes a poetic aesthetic, evoking echoes of bands like Nightwish, Blackmore’s Night, and the haunting melodies of singer Loreena McKennitt. “My goal is to awaken a bit of magic in people’s lives through art. Filmed on a beautiful beach, The ‘Sea of Dreams’ music video is a magical refuge— a shimmering shore where the rush of everyday life is replaced by a gentle lull.”
Aline is responsible for all musical and artistic aspects of her solo project, from compositions, arrangements, instrumentals, and vocals to mixing, mastering, artwork, video and image editing, and costumes. The “Branching Out” album was released through a crowdfunding campaign with the participation of fans from all over the world, especially from the United States, Europe, and Brazil. The album features guitars by Rod Wolf, Lyria’s guitarist, on the tracks “Join Me,” “Sea of Dreams,” “Home,” and “Stairway to Heaven,” and lyrical co-authorship by Aline Happ with Patrick Happ for the lyrics of “Join Me,” “Sea of Dreams,” and “Home.”
