Superlove cover Enter Shikari’s ‘Arguing With Thermometers’ – Latest Track From ‘Changing Tides’ Compilation Album

Noise:pop purveyors Superlove have revealed their blistering cover of Enter Shikari’s top track “Arguing With Thermometers” as part of Rude Cares’ Changing Tides compilation album. In addition to the track release, the band have shared a live session of their cover – watch here

Changing Tides will feature more Rude Records artists that have recorded cover songs on environmental topics to raise their voices for a more sustainable environment. With each song, profits will be donated to the cause of “raising awareness and making the world a better place” through music. 100% of the funds raised through Changing Tides will go to Sea Shepherd.

Talking about Changing Tides and their cover, Superlove say: “So it’s no secret that Enter Shikari are one of the main inspirations for our band and the music we write. As soon as Rude Records asked us to be part of the Changing Tides campaign and to select a song to cover that tackled climate change as a subject, Arguing With Thermometers was the first song that came to mind and we all agreed straight away with no deliberation as it felt 100% right.

It was such a fun process to record the cover too on-top of the subject matter being so strong. The song’s arrangement is just incredible so we hope we could do it some justice as well as reinforcing such an important message.

We really feel like we hit the jackpot in signing with Rude Records as they continue to put out great music independently whilst looking after us as a band so well whilst doing amazing work with their charity “Rude Cares”, they really are setting an example and leading the way in how much further Record Labels can take their music while pushing positive change and doing excellent charity work. We’re so happy to have contributed in a small way, we hope you love the cover!”

Rude Cares launched the Changing Tides compilation album in February 2023, with Baltimore-based Have Mercy providing the first cover as they reimagined Smashing Pumpkin’s hit “1979”. Since then, Changing Tides has welcomed more covers from the Rude Records roster. Superlove’s Arguing With Thermometers (Enter Shikari) will appear alongside “Big Yellow Taxi” (Joni Mitchell) as covered by Izzy Mahoubi and Sydney Sprague, and Telltale’s “Help Is On The Way” (Rise Against). More artists to be revealed soon.

Speaking on the Changing Tides project, Rude Records’ General Manager and A&R Federico Croci shares, “Changing Tides has the purpose of raising awareness on our planet’s safeguarding and as a Company and a B-Corp we’re particularly attentive and concerned about such important topics. With the launch of Changing Tides, Rude Cares will focus on increasing awareness and help protecting our environment through the voices of our artists.”

All proceeds of Changing Tides will benefit Sea Shepherd – a global charity that fights to defend, conserve and protect the ocean with direct action to defend marine wildlife and protect their habitat in the world’s oceans. Sea Shepherd’s conservation actions aim to safeguard the biodiversity of our delicately balanced marine ecosystems. More information is available at https://www.seashepherdglobal.org/
