Interview: Standing Crew

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

The new single has been met with enthusiasm. Just last week, one guy alone said he’d listened to it 14 times a day.

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

It’s a transitional release. Written by the previous lineup, played by the new one.

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

The Scorpions, Bullet or Extreme. They have a knack for good riffs and catchy anthemic choruses.

How has your latest release been received?

Like I mentioned earlier, there’s been mainly positive comments flowing in.

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

To my understanding (after reading the lyrics a few times), it’s a cathartic song about the end of a one-way relationship, where the other person’s using the other one as an emotional crutch while looking for someone better.

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

Can’t really call it a “tour”, if you’re playing close to home… But still, a few semi-local gigs opening for some slightly bigger acts. Should be fun.

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

The next one. ‘Cause most likely, we can convert new people to our thing.

What else can we expect from you in 2023?

New music, first and foremost.
