Interview: Lost Dogs of Ultimo

So how has your latest album/EP gone so far with fans then?

Hi thanks for the opportunity to chat today. The last release Identity / Make People Happy is going really well some good radio play and positive feedback coming our way

Tell us something about the release no one knows?

It was recorded in a very live 1 to 2 takes session to try and capture the essence of the era of Punk in the UK that X Ray Specs captured when they originally released the track

If you could work with any band on a new song, who would it be and why?

Thats a huge question I respect so many artists over the years I’ve been inspired by

The one that is giving me creative drive right now is the late great Alan Vega and Suicide the passion for eccentric and creativity in their music was incredible i just want a small amount of that too rub oof on Me

How has your latest release been received?

Its so cool that everyone is getting not only into our version of Identity but we are turning people on to the great punk band X Ray Specs and Polystyrene was an awesome talent and I miss what she brought to music

Can you tell us about the meaning behind the track?

The track Make People Happy is an experimental Beats and Bass infused track with with some cool heavy noises in there with a simple message about Being happy and finding the right path to happiness through music and sound as an artform

What tours do you have coming up, and what can you tell us about them?

Im trying to organise an interactive show where we bring the music and integrate it with Street Artists and audience creating some cool art as a collective process

What venue are you most looking forward to playing the most, and why?

We are hoping to play at the Tote in Melbourne one of the most Iconic venues around town that launch some of the big eclectic and experimental bands

What else can we expect from you in 2023?

I think some more of our crazy ideas. We are writing a new batch of song with a lot Big heavy bass layers and Guitar noise combining some screaming effects on the back end.
