Written By Wolves release new emotive track ‘TAKE ME HOME’ with spectacular music video

New Zealand’s fresh and progressive cinematic rock band Written By Wolves have released new emotive sing-along track ‘TAKE ME HOME’ with a spectacular live performance music video.

“‘TAKE ME HOME’ is an indepth, yet metaphorical look inside the breakdown. The feeling of knowing that a mental health episode is perhaps imminent, or the realisation of knowing that you are in fact, in the midst of a dark place that you wish to get out of. It speaks of the idea of ‘Home’, not necessarily a physical place, but the one that makes you feel comfortable, that puts you at ease and makes you feel safe,” says vocalist Michael Murphy.

He adds, “The accompanying music video for ´TAKE ME HOME´ is the first half of a two-part release with ‘MISERY’ (coming soon). Both videos showcase the beauty of our hometown, Auckland and the city’s skyline; ‘TAKE ME HOME’ at dusk and ‘MISERY’ at night. We also enlisted the help of a full string section and a 3-part backing vocal line as well. The end result is spectacular and showcases not only our high energy live performance but the beauty of Aotearoa, New Zealand as well.”

Written by Wolves announced themselves on the world stage with their debut release, ‘Secrets’ in 2019. They then went on to combine with some of the biggest names in Rock in 2021, such as Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D. and Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens, to release ‘The Collab Project’, an EP and mental health initiative aimed at giving their fans, friends, and followers a platform to talk about their mental health and a reminder that no matter what they are going through they do not have to do it alone.

They are one of the highest streamed rock bands from New Zealand; having amassed more than 350,000 monthly listeners, 51,000 followers, and more than 64 million streams on Spotify, and over 119,000 subscribers and 74 million views on YouTube.

Having already shared the stage with international heavyweights such as Machine Gun Kelly, Limp Bizkit, Pendulum, Sublime With Rome, Suicidal Tendencies, Hed PE, We The Kings, Four Year Strong, Stevie Stone, and Kehlani, and recently completing three nationwide tours with two of New Zealand’s biggest Rock bands – Devilskin and Blindspott, the band are finally bringing their highly energetic live show to the UK and mainland Europe for the first time ever this November.
